Mike Blair did sterling work as the club secretary and his literary abilities extended to submitting a Glasgow column for "The Spokesman", the national cycle speedway magazine of the time. He excelled himself , however, by persuading the Rutherglen Reformer to send a reporter to our meeting with Kingsway. Sadly this wasn't one of our better performances of the season and we were narrowly defeated in a meeting which ultimately went a long way to costing us the league title
